Something for Yourself

These women, and several others, work long hours caring for the children at El Hogar Prometido (The Promised Home), in Quetzaltenango. Even so, these workers stay after hours for a little “Me-Time”, to laugh and learn basic sewing skills with Robin. Several have shared how these classes minister to their spirits, binding them together in their work as caregivers.

My View From the Ramp

My view of the GA ramp earlier this week at the Aero Club de Guatemala, with most of the Pacaya volcano in the background. A late night call, the death of a loved one, brings me here to transport a grieving family. It takes nearly 10 gallons of fuel to get here, then another 10 to fly this family to their destination. Twenty-four (24) calendar months had passed and it was time to recertify the (pitot/static) system that ensures accuracy in altitude and airspeed. With few options and the clock ticking, we call on ministry contacts in Guatemala. Soon Robin and I were departing our home base in Quetzaltenango, flying direct to Canilla’ …
